Draft pod 1 from the First Annual Maxminis.com D&D Miniature tournament. We held this tourney right after the Championships, so some of us look a little worn out. I, quite literally, gave out 10lbs in prizes including tons of templates, campaign modules, decals, promo miniatures, and booster packs. “Oni” a frequent Maxminis poster is on the far right in the grayish shirt-Kiddoc

Rob Heinsoo, lead designer of the D&D miniatures game (black shirt, seated just to our left of Pat Ellis in the orange), and huge Maxminis.com fan, graced us with his presence at our inaugural event. The players here agonize over picks. Players were opened 2 boosters (one at a time). All players received 1 Giants of Legend booster, and were then allowed to choose either a Dragoneye or an Archfiends booster.-Kiddoc

Draft pod #2 Featured Pat Ellis (in the orange), Sean “striderLoTR” Banks (in the yellow on the right), David “Thieftrent” Smith (blue shirt on the left), and Robert “Dagni” Hatch (in the green) as well as a couple of brand new players on the left. They’d have a surprise guest joining them soon!-Kiddoc

Rob Heinsoo opens up the free Half-Giant Psychic Warrior clinic again while facing off against his next opponent. Rob would go 3-0 on the night as would Robert “Dagni” Hatch. Unfortunately, it was almost 3:30am by the time we wrapped up round 3! We didn’t have time for Rob and Rob to face off to determine a winner. Rob Heinsoo graciously donated all his prizes to the losing players, except for one repainted Bugbear Footpad, which he had me color and autograph so that he’d have something to remind him about the time he came down and whupped us all. Overall it was a great event. I’m looking forward to the 2nd Annual Maxminis.com Draft!-Kiddoc

Rob Heinsoo wags his finger at Sean “striderLoTR” Banks in the backgroun, explaining to him that yes, a CG Mordenkainen band does have a shot against a CE Drider + Orc Champ band. David “Thieftrent” Smith and his opponent get ready to place their miniatures in the foreground-Kiddoc Thank you to Kiddoc for providing the pics from GenCon.
